About Us

We are working together with evangelical Christians in Africa in response to Jesus' command to take care of the poor, widows and orphans.

Pamoja in the UK is a registered charity and in Kenya is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO). All our projects and programmes at the moment are in Kenya, but we hope to extend the work into other countries as opportunities arise.

In the UK, Pamoja is run by the UK Trustees and in Kenya by the Kenyan Trustees. You can read how we are set-up in each of the countries. Pamoja is only possible because of the generous support of many people and organisations to which we offer our thanks.

How Pamoja Started

Pamoja was started by Tim and Sheena Griffin while they lived in Kenya. In 1997 Rev Daniel Mathuva, pastor of a local church, asked them to find sponsors for some children in his congregation. Their parents were too poor to afford school fees and uniform. This was just the beginning!

Where We Are Today

Pamoja now sponsors over 160 children to go to school, runs two orphanages, supports a technical colledge, supports a clinic, provides micro finance loans, supports pastors and has become involved in many other related projects and programmes.

Moving Forward
