Tala

Tala is about 1.5 hours driving east of Nairobi. The area has low rainfall anad is poor due to low levels of employment. Robert and Rose Gitau moved to the area in the early 1990's and have since established a church, a primary school and a clinic. Pamoja helped build the clinic and is now helping to construct a care centre for orphans. We also provide monthly support to encourage Robert and Rose in their work with orphans. Money was also given recently to help start a bee-keeping & honey project.

The Future

In addition to completing the orphanage, other ideas for Tala are to set up a high school, build a hospital and mortuary and provide a supply of water to local communities by using a tractor and water bowser to generate income.
